Brian Sanders
Originally from Madison, Wisconsin, Brian Sanders is an experienced, versatile performer living in Brooklyn, New York. Well-versed in many different styles of music, Brian has performed and recorded with a wide range of musicians, including jazz legend Kenny Garrett, indie rock band Emanuel and the Fear, with whom he toured Europe and recorded regularly, and song-writing duo Barnaby Bright.
He performs classical music frequently as the principal cellist and lecturer for Musica de Camara, an organization devoted to premiering new music by Puerto Rican, South American and Latin American composers. He also appears as a soloist, and has performed at venues such as the Kennedy Center Millennium Stage in Washington, DC. Brian currently works with singer/pianist Rivky, performing and recording regularly as a duo.
Frequently employed as a studio musician, Brian can be heard on over 50 albums from many genres, and on several film and television scores. He also plays regularly in musical theater productions, including the Prospect Theater Company productions Tamar of the River and Jasper in Deadland. He works regularly with singer and writer Onalea Gilbertson, as the character “Bill” in her production Blanche: the Bittersweet Life of a Wild Prairie Dame, and performs with her as a member of her cabaret show Onalea and the Vagabond Orchestra.
On any given Sunday, Brian helps to lead worship with churches around New York City, including Trinity Grace Church, Redeemer, Apostles, and Hope Church. He is currently a member of the worship project Young Oceans, and has recorded with Nashville-based Christian band Tenth Avenue North.
